hi ppl,
the last hurdle for me in pursuing a MS in australia has been cleared.yeas my ielts score has come and got aq band of 7.5.think its a good score.my university (monash) requires only a overall band of 6.5 with no individual bands less than 6.last month 28 th i wrote my ielts.oh boy still cant forget those agonising moments.i have estimated that i would get some where between 7 and 8.to my amazement i have score d a full 9 in listening.rest modules i have scored 7.after finishing my test i did a self analysis and it scared the hell out of me.i thought i would get a 7 in listening,7 in reading,6 in writing and a 7 in writing.
in writing i i did well the part 1 in which u have to interpret a given graph and produce a report of not less than 150 words.i did that well.the next one in the writing section has more weitage where u gotta write a essay of not leass than 250 words from the topic given.the topic given to me was "impact of newspapers on peoples lives:is it a negative development".u have to cpomplete the above 2 tasks in 609 minutes and i spent more than 50% of my time in the first section.in the second section i didnt had any clue as how to develop a argument and dont know whether to agree or disagree.finally i decided on to agree with the statement and i wrote for about 260 words.since i finished in a hurry i had a feeling that i will get scwed in this section.i was praying to god that i will atleast get 1 6 in that section.
now after seeing the results i feel relaxed and surprised.istill think my essay would never come to a band 7 score.may be the cambridge certified examiner was satisfied with my essay.in speaking i thought i did a pretty good job.initially i thought of getting a 6.but fater completing my speaking module i was quite confident that i would get a 7.i definitely had impressed the female examiner who came.
now i think i will get my visa may be somewhere around the last week of may...
